QUESTIONS / ANSWERS
Event check-in questions and answers
Direct answers about modes, hardware, connectivity and integration.
What is 7-event?
7-event is a native iPad workspace for staffed registration, self-service check-in and session admission, with badge printing, profile updates and onsite records.
Which mode should we use?
Use staff check-in for updates and exceptions, kiosks for prepared guests, and Session mode for room-specific access. Different iPads can serve each part of the same event.
Does a guest tap the iPad itself?
The current integration uses an external tap device and online service to send a guest identifier to the iPad. It is not direct phone-to-iPad tapping or universal NFC-card support.
What works without internet?
With the list downloaded, staff and kiosk main-event check-ins can be saved locally and uploaded later. Printing still needs a printer connection. Tap services, sessions, new registrations and online redemption need internet.
Which badge printers are supported?
Verified code paths include Brother QL, Zebra, GK888T, Argox, XP-T451B and staff-desk AirPrint. Support differs by mode: XP-T451B and AirPrint are not current kiosk auto-print options. Validate the exact model and sample.
What happens on a repeat scan?
The workflow recognises completed check-ins and handles repeat submissions. Offline iPads do not share state instantly. Staff should review and trigger any required reprint.
Can a kiosk guest arrive without a QR code?
Use enabled name, email or barcode lookup, review the match and slide to check in. Refer unclear matches or missing records to staff.
Can Session mode admit offline or print badges?
Current Session mode verifies access and confirms admission online. It is separate from main-event offline check-in, tap input and badge printing.
Can 7-event work with our registration system?
Integration can be assessed around your guest lists, fields and identifiers. Confirm APIs, permissions, updates and status return. List import does not imply a ready-made connector for every platform.
Which languages does the app support?
The app supports Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English and Vietnamese. The website is in Chinese and English. Validate guest text and badge fonts on the intended stock.
What does the browser badge editor do?
Manage event templates, stock dimensions, fields and layout in the browser. Preview and test print on iPad, then approve a physical sample on the intended hardware.
Can kiosk backgrounds be published centrally?
The current scope is local background selection, preview and orientation settings. The workspace download example is a local simulation, not a released central publishing service.
